God's Mercies In Disguise: A Post Based Off Of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"What if your blessings come through raindrops? What if your healing comes through tears? What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know you're near? What if the trials of this life are your mercies in disguise?" 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Did you ever stop to think that, in the midst of the difficult times in your life, that those hard times, those struggles, and those difficulties could actually be God's mercies in disguise? I know what you are saying right now, "why would God cause those struggles to happen to grant me those mercies?" Well, maybe that is the only way that He is able to get your attention.
You see, our lives can get so busy. We don't have time for certain things and we hurry around to get to those things that we do have time for. Now, you might have a successful job, a fancy car, or whatever all this rushing around has gotten you, but do you have a relationship with God? If so, are you paying attention to what He is doing for you? See, as 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "what if your blessings come through raindrops?" What if you are in the middle of a storm in your life? You don't see a way out and all you are trying to do is to get out of this rain that is keeping you from where you need to go. But look up at the rain, let it hit your face, and realize that, in the middle of that storm you are in, God is exposing you to all of His blessings for you. What if this storm is what it took for God to get you to see those? What if those tears are what it takes for God to heal you? And what if all of those stressful and sleepless nights of just laying awake in your bed are what it takes for God to show you that He is there?
So before you start to evaluate how the problem is going to make you late, how it's going to ruin your day, or how you really didn't need this right now, just stop and listen. Just think that maybe, just maybe, this is God's way of showing you that He is there, that He loves you, and that He wants amazing things for you.
