Life's Purpose, And Life's Meaning.

"The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." William Shakespeare

I came across this quote and I thought that it was absolutely beautiful. But then, at the same time, I was trying to figure out exactly what it is that Shakespeare meant. And maybe, as you read this, you are thinking the exact same thing. Well, today, I want to expose to you what I believe that he was saying, and the inspiration that I think we can all take from it.
So, let's go over the first sentence to start out with. "The meaning of life is to find your gift." That seems pretty self-explanatory. I mean, the meaning of each and every one of our lives is to find what our gift is that God has placed in each of our hearts. Now, it takes a while to find this. You can't just expect to know your gift just like that, but it takes a little bit of trial and error. It takes a little effort, and even takes some points where you fail. But that failure is only leading you closer to the point to where you will find what that gift actually is.
Now for the second sentence. "The purpose of life is to give it away." Notice how here, it shifts from the meaning of life to the purpose of it. See, after we find the meaning, after we find what the gift is that God has blessed us with, with find the purpose of our lives, the way in which we can use this gift. But then Shakespeare says that the "purpose of life is to give it away." Give it away? Why? And to who? You see, we need to give our gift away to the world around us. God didn't just bless us with it so we could keep it bottled up inside and use it only for our own enjoyment, but He gave it to us so that we could share it with the world and so that we could use it to make a difference!
So today, I want you to remember what Shakespeare said, and I know that it is probably not likely that you will both discover and go out and use your gift today, what I do want you to do is remember the meaning and remember the purpose.
