"Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24
Are you asking God for something today? Are you waiting for Him to answer, and maybe have been for a while now? Maybe you are just ready to give up, you haven't seen any results; but the question that I want to ask you is this; have you done everything that you can? You may be surprised to find that the answer is probably no...
Now what else is there that that we would possibly need to do? We have already prayed to God, we have listened, we have waited and have trusted, but still, we have received nothing. But see, Jesus tells us Himself that there is yet, another step to prayer. One that I think many people overlook. That step, is believing that we already have what we are asking for.
Now I know, this may sound a bit odd to you, but let me explain why and how this step can affect our prayer life. You see, we can ask for something all day long, we can trust and we can wait, but God is waiting to see how much we really want what it is that we are asking for. Yes, of course, He knows what we want and need, but He is waiting to see if we are ready to accept this miracle that He is about to perform, and that is why, here down on earth, we need to show Him that we are. If you are asking for healing, praise God for healing you, and rather than complaining, tell others how great your God is, and tell them how is healing you, or even better, how He has healed you! Yes, it may have not happened yet, but you are showing God that you are ready for it to happen. If you are asking for God to show you where to go in your life, walk around with a confidence as though you know where it is that you are going.
You see, when we do these things, God is going to see that we are ready for Him to start working His miracles in our lives, and He is going to begin to do just that. You just have to "believe that you have received it."
