"Yet not what I will, but what you will." Mark 14:36
I find this quote so simply beautiful, and I believe that the meaning behind it is even more so, and one other thing that I truly love about these words that Jesus speaks, is that they can apply to us in any area or aspect of our lives. These words could even bring to pass the answers that you have been searching so hard for.
Now I want to discuss the story behind this verse a bit, you may already know it or you may not, but Jesus was preparing himself to be crucified. He knew that it was going to happen, and that it was going to happen soon, so he went up on top of a hill to pray, where he began to grow emotional, praying to his Father that, even though he was scared, His will would be done in his life. Now, does the feeling of being broken down, emotional, and terrified sound familiar to you? Yes, of course, we have all felt these emotions, and we know that, in these times, it is the hardest to trust that God's will is being done. We feel like we need to control it, so we begin to take that burden on our shoulders, and when we find out that we can't, then stress begins to pile on top of that. But I want to encourage you today, that no matter where you are in your life, whether you are broken down and fearful, or whether you are doing great, filled with happiness and joy, there is always something that we need to let God into in our lives. Something that we want so badly to control, maybe it is finding a job, discovering your purpose, finding healing, or answers to prayers, we want to control these things because we want to know what the outcome is. But let me tell you today, that you can't. You can't control it. It is just not possible. But you see, if you would let go if it, send it up to God and pray that His will would be done in your life, just as Jesus did, He wil come down and do the miracles, give us the answers, perform the amazing things, and work all of the blessings that we could have never done by attempting to control the situation. So just pray up to God today, "yet no what I will, but what you will."
