What Can God Do For You?

"What do you want me to do for you?" Mark 10:41

The word what; we all use it, as it is a very common word in our vocabulary, but did you ever think about what that word, what, means when we are talking to God? We ask God what He is doing, we ask Him what is next, we ask Him what is going to happen, or what direction we should go in. We use lots of whats in prayer, but what so many of us don't realize, in the midst of all of those whats, there is something that, as Jesus spoke to a blind man so many years ago, God is asking us today, He is asking us, "what can I do for you?"
Now, this is kind of a big question, for we know that our God can do anything, nothing is impossible with Him, so when He asks us what is is that we want Him to do for us, we need to dig deep and discover all of those wants and those needs that we have within us. Now you see, when we stop asking what, and we start listening to what it is that God is asking us instead, we are going to find so much more clarity, so much more peace, and so much relief in knowing that He can do these things and that, if it be His will, He will do them.
Now when asking yourself what it is that God can do for you, don't feel selfish. Dig deep within your own heart and find the deepest desires that you have been keeping hidden, and send them up to God. Ask Him to heal you of your ailments, ask Him to give you a job, ask Him to reveal to you your purpose, ask Him to restore your marriage, just give Him all of these things that you have within you, and answer the question that He is asking you.
Now know, that you aren't going to see answers right away, but what you need to do is keep praying about it. Think about it this way, when you plant a garden, you put the seeds into the ground, and what do you do next? You don't just walk away, leaving them to grow on their own. No! You keep coming back to them, watering them, and taking care of them; and that is what we need to do with these things that we are telling God we want Him to do for us. We need to keep praying about it, keep telling God that this is what we want Him to do for us, for eventually, like that seed that you plant, it will bloom, and it will be so much greater and more beautiful than you ever could have imagined.
