Today, I want to encourage you with this verse of Hebrews 12:1. I want you to get up and keep running the race, keep walking the journey, and following the path that God has for you. But then there is that one word; endurance. This verse tells us to do these things, and do them with endurance... Now what does this mean? And how can we take this, and continue to follow the path that God has for us?
Now see, the definition of endurance is, "the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way." See, right here, God is telling us that this journey that He has in store for us or this path that He has paved for us is going to be difficult. He is telling us that, on it, we are going to have unpleasant situations. But He is telling is that we have to keep going, we have to keep walking, without giving up.

Now I know that it can be hard when facing a difficulty, but if you would rest in the fact that God is the one that created this path that He has called you to, and know that He is not going to create something that is going to cause you to fail; you are the one that makes that decision. See, God is up in heaven, looking down at us, and He can't wait for us to see what it is that He has for us on this journey, but to see those things, He needs us to keep running the race that He has set before us.
I think that so many of us get so excited about God's promises for us when we first hear them. We know that God is calling us to this or that, and we are willing to run the race and face whatever it is that we have to to get there, but after time passes, that fire begins to burn out a little. We lose a bit of that excitement that we once started with, and eventually, we only have a this little tiny bit left. The kind that doesn't really inspire us anymore, but causes us to question if all of the difficulty and unpleasantness of this journey is really worth it.
But today, we need to get that excitement back. We need to know that God has something so spectacular in front of us, something so amazing, that you wouldn't even believe me if I told you. So take up your endurance, and keep running the race that God has for you.
