"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12
Sometimes it feels like we are walking in complete darkness. We can not seem to see what it is in front of us, and around us, it seems like all of that darkness; that chaos, all of that confusion, and all of the stress; is surrounding us. We can't seem to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Is this you today? Are you stuck in the darkness? if so, I have some good news for you; for you have the best flashlight that anybody could ask for.
So what is it that we can do to get ourselves out of this dark hole that we are in? Yes, I would imagine that you have tried quite a few things already, but what I want to ask you to do today is to focus on what is important. Focus on the things in your life that mean a lot to you, that you feel like you should be filling your heart and mind with. Is this situation that is swallowing you up in darkness worth all of the worry and stress that you give it? Yes, I know I do not know what the situation is, but what I do know is that, during times like these, the more we focus on what the enemy is trying to get us to believe, the more we are going to believe it. See, the enemy is in that darkness, he is in that stress, in that worry, in that doubt, and in that control that you think you have. But see, we can overpower Him, and we can overpower the darkness as well. For, when we shine a light to the darkness, when we take our "flashlight" and actually put it to use, the enemy is going to flee, and the darkness will begin to diminish, all because God is our light. He is our "flashlight, and He is just waiting for us to take up His light and use it. He is wanting us to show the enemy that we have the "light of the world" on our side, and no one can overcome Him. He wants us to take to the darkness that is surrounding us, and by starting to focus on the things that matter in our lives, the positive things, the blessings, and that God has it all in the palm of His hand, His light will shine, and just like the enemy, the darkness will flee.
So today, take up your "flashlight," and start living the life that God has for you.
