We Did Not Choose Him, But He Chose Us

"You did not choose me, but I chose you." John 15:16

 I think that so many of us are overwhelmed and stressed in our lives, due to the fact that we think that we need to have control. We worry about what will happen next, we worry about what and where it is that God where lead us to, and if we will be able to handle it. We worry about how we are going to get from here to there; but just stop. Just stop worrying for a minute and listen, for there is no reason, no reason at all, that you should worry; and there is also absolutely no reason that you should be stressed over any of the control that you think you have.
 So what is it that we can do? How can we break these chains of control and worry that are holding us down? Well you see, what we need to know, is that we did not choose God. I think that, so many times, we think that we chose Him, so we have to make everything right before we give it to Him. We don't want Him to have to deal with our problems, so we take them on our own shoulders and try to deal with them ourselves. But you see, we did not choose Him, but rather, He chose us, and those worries and problems that you don't want to "bother" God with, He wants you to come to Him with them. That is what is job is! He promised us that He would be there for us, and if He chose you, I can guarantee you that He is not going to let you fail. If He chose you, then He is going to give you the life that He has created for you. If He chose you, He is going to break those chains holding you down and rid you of any worry and stress you may have upon you. But see, for Him to do these things, we have to let go. We have to let go of our life, knowing that we have no control over it. We have to let go of the chains, we have to let go of the worry and the stress that is keeping us from the amazing life that God has for us.
 So today, just know that you didn't choose God, but He chose you, and His plan does not involve any stress or worry. So give Him control today, and watch your life change for the better.
