What Is Hope? And How Can We Have It?

"Once you choose hope, anything is possible." Christopher Reeve

What is hope to you? Is it waiting in anticipation for when God is going to answer the prayer that you have been asking Him? Is it it waiting for what it is that God has in store for you? I like to look at it as expecting God's goodness, but sometimes I feel that we lose this hope when things begin to look impossible.
Now why is it that we lose this hope? Why is it that we lose that excited expectation of God's goodness? Well, it is because we don't see how it is going to happen on the outside. From our perspective, it just cannot work, there is no way that it can. Maybe we feel that we aren't capable, or that the situation that we are in right now wouldn't work well with it. But let me tell you today, that when you choose hope, we are telling God that we believe in Him to do the impossible. We are telling Him that we are trusting that His goodness will be done in our lives. But see, it is you that has to make that choice.
So now we know, that "once we choose hope, anything is possible," but that is not where your part ends. You see, you can't just tell God that you have that hope, and then just go about, not contributing anything, but letting God do His work. No! I ean, yes, God will do His work, but you have to do your part as well. You have to not only confirm your hope with God, but you have to believe that His goodness is going to come to pass and you have pray that it will. See, hope is giving it all to God, it is freeing yourself of all the burdens and control that we tend to carry, so that God is able to work fully and wonderfully in our lives. So keep believing, keep praying and talking with God, but also keep listening, give up control, and rejoice in the joy of the expectations that we have of God's goodness.
