"Let God direct your steps." Proverbs 3:6
Maybe today in your life, you are going through something. You are either in a place where you don't know where it is that God wants you to go in your life, knowing where it is that He wants you to go but afraid of the change that it will bring, or maybe you are somewhere between these two. Wherever it is that you find yourself, I want to encourage you today to "let God direct your steps."
Now, I know that this can be a difficult thing for many people. We are having to let go of any plans that we thought we might have for our lives and give them up to God, who has a totally different plan in store; and yes, the plan will be immeasurably better than ours, but it can still be a scary step considering the fact that you have no idea as to where it is that God is going to take you.
Or, maybe today you are in the position of knowing what it is that God wants for you, at least one of the first steps to getting there anyways, but you are too frightened to go after it. See, I think that, so many times, we pray and pray and pray, asking God for direction so that He may show us which way we should walk so that we could live the life that He has for us. We ask for this guidance, we thirst for it, but once we get it, our perspective changes. What we got as a reply to our prayer was not exactly what we thought it would be. In fact, this plan seems as though it will be much harder, much more uncomfortable than the one that you thought God would give you. But listen, if we are asking for His guidance and if we are wanting Him to lead us into the life that He has for us, if that is our prayer, than we need to be willing to let Him direct our steps. We need to be willing to follow Him wherever it is that He might take us! This applies to those who may not know their direction yet as well, if you would just pray to God, and continue to follow HIm in wherever it is that He may lead you, pledge that to Him, and watch Him begin to work in your life.
But my friend, we have to be willing to follow the one who has given us this life in the first place. Yes, it may uncomfortable and it may not be something that we are used to, but we have to know and trust that this is God leading us that much closer to the future and the life that He has for us, the life that you have been praying for direction to. So just go out today, and follow Him, wherever it is that He may lead you, and let Him direct your steps.
