Stop Focusing On What Is Overwhelming You, And Run To That Rock

"When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the Rock that is higher than I." Psalm 61:2

 In this world, I will admit, it is incredibly easy to get overwhelmed. I mean, just turn on the news and your heart is filled with trouble, maybe you go to work and you have so much to do that it all just piles up on your shoulders, or maybe today you have a to-do list that is far longer than you would like. See, we all get overwhelmed, but that doesn't mean that we have to sit and wallow in it.
 Now you see, most of us have probably heard this verse before, but my question for you today is that do you know what that Rock that you are running towards is? Yes, most of you say that this Rock is God, and of course that is true, but do you realize how much more there is to it than that? This Rock that God is; the thing that He is encouraging us to run towards when we are overwhelmed on this earth, that is love, it is an unconditional, forever love that is never going to go anywhere, one that loves all of His children just as they are. It is a source that lifts all the weight of this earth off of our shoulders and reassures us that He has all of our life, and the world around us, in His hands. It is a source of comfort and healing that will fill you with what you need and heal those wound that you have, not just of flesh, but wounds of the heart and the mind. So you see, if we would stop focusing on these things that overwhelm us and just run towards God, our Rock, then you, my friend, are going to start living the life that He truly has in store for you. He did not create you to live a life full of stress, bad news, and negativity, no. But He created you to live a life full of peace, comfort, and an unexplainable joy that you can only find in His love. And see, when you find this, and when you are able to run to this whenever you feel overwhelmed, you are going to have such a glow about you, you are going to have a smile on your face when anyone else would have a negative attitude, that people are going to ask how you stay this way. And do you know what the great part about that is? It's that you can tell them and you can lead them into this amazing love that God has for them. You can lead them that that Rock where they will find what it is that you have within you.
 So today, when you feel overwhelmed, just run to that Rock, for when you do, you will truly be living the life that God has created you to live. One full of love, peace, comfort, happiness, and light.
